So our logical question becomes, will Americans ever get a crack at owning one?

The A1 Quattro is faster than a Mini Cooper S, or any other performance hatch currently on sale in the US market, it’s also faster than the Corsa VXR Nürburgring and most everything else available in Europe, including the Ford Focus ST and VW Golf R… Yes, as of right now Audi had positioned them self with what may well be the hottest hot-hatch of the new decade.
Audi has announced plans to produce 333 left-hand-drive models of this, the fastest production

A1 ever built.
Currently only planned to be made available in mainland Europe, Audi has stated that positive customer reaction to the car could see it reach the UK and eventually even possibly the United States and Canada. Hope springs eternal…
Equipped with a 252bhp turbocharged, 2.0 liter TFSI power-plant capable of producing 258lb-ft of torque from between 2,500rpm and 4,500rpm and propelling the spry hatch from 0-60mph in fewer

than 5.7 seconds. No slouch on top-end, the A1 Quattro also has a reported top speed of 152+mph.
While not the best looking hatch out there, the A1 Quattro definitely would seem to offer the most performance potential and with that in mind would be a perfect new platform for American tuners to show off their innovation and unique skills.
Audi, if you’re listening Americans want/need this car.
