Today we leave our offices in Tampa, Florida and head to the west-coast for a week long working vacation which will take us to the annual SEMA show in LasVegas, some 2013 model road testing from Vegas to the Yosemite and a factory tour with the fine folks at Tesla Motors in beautiful San Francisco, California. Be sure to keep checking the Down Shift Magazine website, Facebook page and Twitter feed for ongoing coverage and updates live SEMA and our west-coast trip. See y’all next week!
This year we will be spending three days covering SEMA; Wednesday, October 31st through Friday, November 2nd. In that time we will be covering more than 1 million square feet of car show and conducting meetings, interviews and photo-ops with everyone from ALMS and IRL racecar drivers to industry leaders and television and sports personalities.
Yes, that does mean we will be spending Halloween in Las Vegas…expect epic product model pictures this year. You’re welcome.
Outside of our time spent encamped at the Las Vegas Convention Center we will also be spending some quality drive time in an array of 2013 cars at the famous Red Rocks Canyon, just outside of Las Vegas.
Next we head north, on a path that will take us to Mona Lake before crossing into California via the Tioga Pass (fingers crossed a freak early-season snow storm doesn’t close the pass) which cuts right through the heart of the Yosemite National Park and leads you straight to the iconic Yosemite Valley.
The last leg of our west-coast journey takes us west from Yosemite to San Francisco, California where we will tour the new Tesla factory and spend some quality time with their innovative new Model S electric car.
